Fri, 3 February 2006 ![]() This podcast features my very first interview. Kira Buckland (Founder) and James Robbins (PR Director) of Senshi-Con stop by to talk. Senshi-Con has the honorable distinction of being the first ever anime convention in Alaska. I also take a close look at the first volume of Hikaru No Go. I'm glad you decided to review HnG this week -- it's one of my favorite anime, and it deserves all the attention it can get! I'll be interested to see if you have any further comments once you move onto other discs, though. In your review, you mentioned that an interested in Go and/or strategy games would be necessary in order to enjoy the show, but I think that becomes less and less true as the series progresses. While Go is the focus of the characters' ambitions, and thus the driving force behind most of the plot, it's the characters themselves and their relationships and rivalries with each other that kept me watching for 74 episodes. I hope the same proves true for you!
